Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing as the chief guest at the virtual inauguration of ‘First International E-Conference on Critical Care-2020’ last night.
Expressing determination to prevent further spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in Bangladesh in the coming winter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon the doctors to continue providing humanitarian services during the epidemic.
“We are hopeful that in the days to come, we will be able to prevent further spread of the disease,” he said.
The conference is organized by the Bangladesh Society of Anesthesiologists (BSA). And this conference is being held at a time when the whole world is fighting against the epidemic coronavirus.
Sheikh Hasina said, “Only our efforts and the hard work of doctors and health workers can prevent the spread of the deadly virus in Bangladesh.”
The Prime Minister said the government has deployed 2,000 doctors and 5,000 nurses on an emergency basis to deal with the Kovid-19 emergency.
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Medicine is a great profession and they are serving humanity by treating a sick person. So, when you become a doctor, your first and foremost job is to serve humanity. I hope you don’t forget your responsibilities under any circumstances. ‘
The Prime Minister said anesthesiologists play an important role in treating critically ill patients in addition to operating theaters.
He said the importance of anesthesiology before, during and after surgery and in providing complete preoperative care is increasing everywhere.
